KUK fest:

Living Libraries of V4

Dolný Kubín 10 – 13 June 2026

KUK Fest: Living Libraries of V4 is a cross-border cultural project connecting libraries from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Poland. Hosted in Dolný Kubín, the festival combines concerts, theatre, readings, and workshops with a library fair, where libraries share experiences, explore common challenges, and develop new approaches to community engagement.

The project redefines libraries as dynamic “living libraries” – spaces for dialogue, creativity, and cultural exchange – while promoting reading as a pathway to understanding and strengthening regional cooperation across Central Europe. The project also supports knowledge exchange among partner institutions and contributes to strengthening cooperation within the Visegrad region.

The aim of the project is to strengthen the role of libraries as open community centres, support cooperation among cultural institutions in the V4 countries, and offer the public a high-quality cultural programme that connects art, literature, and social dialogue. At the same time, the project focuses on developing innovative approaches to reading promotion and engaging diverse target groups in cultural life.
